Bruno Zhu’s parents own a store in a small Portuguese city where Zhu curated diverse exhibitions. In this way he reminds us that art appears where we least expect it.  According to his own statements, Zhu began taking photographs at the age of 13. His interdisciplinary approach gives evidence of  Zhu’s many interests, such as the integration of pieces of clothing into his work and multi-media installations. (Zhu originally studied fashion design.) His work deals with, how desire becomes visible in our consumer-oriented society. And yet he dismisses the post-digital moniker: “Regarding people relating my work to the term post-digital, I think it’s just lazy. It’s not wrongful, but it shows a lack of understanding of the peculiarities of artists who instigated the ‘post-digital’ discussion. This shouldn’t be pinned down to a basic aesthetic assumption. We are all ‘post-digital’ today.”¹
